The story
HouseMate started as a university project, but it never really left me. Over the years I've returned to it several times, each time redesigning it with a clearer eye and a stronger sense of what it should be.
What began as a class brief has become a genuine side passion - and I'm now working towards turning it into a real, usable product with Lovable.ai.
The problem
Anyone who's lived in a shared house knows the pattern: chores get forgotten, responsibilities get argued about, and small frustrations quietly build up.
HouseMate exists to solve that - not with rigid rules, but with visibility. When everyone can see what's assigned, what's overdue, and what's coming up, accountability takes care of itself.
The solution
HouseMate organizes household tasks by room and by person, so nothing falls through the cracks.
Housemates can filter by "My tasks" or see the household view, track due dates at a glance, and check off jobs as they're completed. A built-in calendar lays out the week's responsibilities visually, while quick reminders and shared articles help housemates communicate and plan - from cleaning schedules to splitting bills fairly.

The interface is built to feel light and approachable rather than like another chore app you dread opening - clear task cards, colour-coded housemates, and a warm, human tone throughout.
A full branding kit sits behind the product, with multiple logo variations, a consistent colour system, and UI patterns designed to scale across onboarding, task management, scheduling, and community features.
